Canadian loyalists??

So they want to be part of the British comonwealth too?

Thanks Liza - think that photo is a keeper!
Denise - slaves in the United States, during the revolution, were offered passage and freedom if they swore allegiance to the British Flag. Many were transported to Nova Scotia where they were - surprise surprise - treated abysmally. A large number of them were taken back to Africa in this slightly misguided but well-intentioned plan to make good. Read all about it in The Book of Negroes by Lawrence Hill, a Canadian writer. It is a WONDERFUL book...
