an award and seven things you might not know about me

Patricia has kindly passed on an award to me. She is a very versatile and fun blogger so I urge you to visit her if you haven't already. She lives in Colorado where I lived for awhile as a youngster so I'm always loving her photos!

Here is my lovely award - I really like the colour and design!

This award comes with rules
1. Thank those who loved me enough to bestow this gift. - done!

2. Share seven things about myself. (I'm going to offer truths that signify my versatility...)

  1. I have lived in 56 homes, five provinces and one US state.
  2. I have had many many jobs from working in an old folk's home, running a daycare, clowning, being a high-lead logger, actor, cook, facilitator, theatre director, convention planner, entrepreneurial consultant, tarot reader, recreation leader, store clerk, consultant, teacher,  to being the writer/psychotherapist I am today!
  3. I am an incurable optimist.
  4. I like to be at important thresholds - helping out - births, deaths, transitions to adulthood.
  5. I am truly, madly, deeply in love with my sweet patootie.
  6. I had a happy childhood and still want to be a writer!
  7. I am never bored.

3. I've reworked this part because I am not as good at following rules as Patricia! Which is weird because I'm a compliant Canuck and she's a rebellious Yank but there you have it. I am bestowing this on some amount of bloggers that I find versatile or worthy of note in my life. Not thirty, not fifteen - maybe ten...if you receive it and you already have it - for goodness sake fuhgedaboudid!

4. Drop by and let my friends know I love them. - and I'll do that right now....

I get bored, but it is usually because there is something I should be doing that I am avoiding, so I am not letting myself do whatever would make me less bored... I absolutely adore that you have been in the clowning business!

Congrats on the award :)

Oh, Jan, thank you so much! I'm trying to leave town for the holiday weekend, but I will happily repost this on Monday :)

Thank you so much, Jan! 56 homes?! Holy COW! Did you spend a year moving weekly, or what?

I love your facts, and I share your incurable optimism, and wanting to write in spite of a relatively happy childhood (I think incurable optimists HAVE THOSE, regardless of what goes on around them)

Thank you Jan. That's so sweet. Especially since this is the first time I've been to this blog. I always go to the Crazy Jane one. I love the look of this one. It's so peaceful. I shall come back often.

Congratulations on your award Jan. It is so well deserved. I enjoyed learning all these new things about you. Thank you so much for thinking of me when passing the award on. I am truly honored.
BTW, you'll have to tell more about the high-lead logger sometimes. Thanks again.

Cruella - I used to get bored but no more - perhaps it is something about the difference between hot boredom (ugh) and cool boredom (ah!) - a Buddhist distinction. And so far I'm still in the clowning business - one gig a year!
Rosie - cool - have a nice holiday weekend!
Tartlette - yah, something like that - more like every year - I was an airforce brat and it has taken me 52 years to get over it!
Helen - yes, for my own sanity I had to split into the writer me and the obsessed with chickens etc...me. Glad you like it!
Denise - you mean you didn't read the "Rooster Attacked by Rottweiler - news at 5" post??? I had no idea you weren't coming here...oh well, all good now!
Stacy - I hope you're having a fantastic weekend - I am!
Mason - I might do a special blog on weird jobs I've had! the high-lead logger one is part of a book that I'm approaching very gingerly...

The incurable optimist...Oh you are blessed!

Now, we want more stories about you and your life and your travels.

You didn't get to be a clown and a chicken wrangler by chance...or did you?
