My summer vacation

Every year for the past twenty years or so (barring one or two I couldn't be there for) I join my pal, Kerol, at the cottage she rents in beautiful Green Bay. I go for about 24 hours and we pack in everything you can imagine - scrabble games, long walks, visits to bakeries and antique stores, great food, idle chat and quiet reading. Yep. Sometimes we go out down the beach and I might go in the water but this year we simply didn't have time. It was heavenly. Here are a few images from the day...as we get ready for a visit from Irene.

Why only one day? Looks wonderful, I would want to stay longer!

it looks like a wonderful tradition, Jan! Reminds me a little of my grandparents cabin--a place that was so familiar and yet AWAY, so it was relaxing. Always felt like I could really let go of it there.

What beautiful pictures. It makes me feel peaceful just to look at them.

I hope you will be safe and out of Irene's path. Take care!
