Living the Complicated Simple Life -gardening, chickens, knitting, cooking, dreaming, and accordion playing...
Jan, I LOVE your pics!! The raw beauty of everything I imagine is quintesential to Nova Scotia. The maple leaf (from your Cape Breton compilation) is my favourite from what I've viewed so far..I came across your blog from a post you made on an HRM by-law case ordering a couple to give up their chickens a few years ago..I intend to move to NS and am interested in homesteading. I'd welcome the opportunity to speak with you about 'life in Nova Scotia'.. to gain insights from a local. sachafernandes (at) gmail (dot) com OR via my website http://www.FERNSwellness.ca
Lovely Jan! Sorry to hear about your back troubles...how are you doing? Is there anything worse than back pain??? I think not.
LOVE these pics, Jan. You've been busy in spite of your back and the fact you're not able to continue with the class. These are stellar!
Lovely texture, especially the second one. Sorry to read you had to drop out of your class and sorry to read you are having back problems. This damp weather is no help at all!! Stay well. GB
So beautiful! You are a wonderful photographer!
Sacha - thanks! In the fairness of complete disclosure - the lovely leaf one was taken by my step-dot - she borrowed my camera when I was really down for the count in Cape Breton. She's the blue-haired gal in one of the other photos. I'll happily speak to you about homesteading in Nova Scotia. Not one myself but know lots of folks trying to live off the land. I'll go to your site first!Robyn - I am an old hand at a bad back - had a disk fusion when I was 29. My wicked back did lead me to everything that is golden in my life - well no, it didn't lead me to my guy, but to the dharma, to being a therapist and to lots of other good stuff. This is my sacroiliac or however you say that and to say it is kicking my ass is an understatement. Guess I'm older now and there is some arthritis. Oh, well - life is like a bubble.Jude - thanks! I don't have to go far as you know and Hoagy was pretty gentle with me (seems he is aging too)Liza - coming from you that is wonderful praise! Thank you.
Brenda - oops - a trick or treater came by and I lost my place. Writing in the dark so the nice candles and skulls I've got going will be good. Thanks for your message - I don't feel bad about not doing the class now, I'll do it later and it has me inspired. I did Miksang (contemplative photography) for years and it is great to get back into the discipline.
